Mercure Hotel Berlin City

“We chose to visit Berlin shortly before Christmas to experience the markets. The booking was for 6 people (3 adults, 3 children). The hotel was easy to find, within easy distance from Berlin Hauptbahnhof (15 minute walk/5 mins by public transport). The staff on the front desk were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, well presented, well equipped, and comfortable. For breakfast, there was a wide variety of foods available and perfectly set us up for the day. The bar offered a good selection of food and drinks, at prices I would expect for a hotel. The food we ordered looked and tasted delicious. The location of the hotel worked well for us; it was very close to tram stops and the U-bahn (on which note, I would highly recommend downloading the BVG Fahrinfo app to buy tickets and navigate Berlin using public transport). The reasons I didn't give a perfect rating: - the beds weren't the most comfortable that I've slept in, compared to some other budget/mid-priced hotels - the bar (although every aspect of it was good) played hip-hop music through the TV. Nothing against hip-hop, but it's not the most conducive for relaxing of an evening, verging on distracting - the central location is a double-edged sword: it is great for accessibility, but not for views, and the traffic/trams could be slightly disturbing at night. These criticisms aside, I would stay here again, as overall it is a good hotel with great staff.”

“I have personally just had breakfast but the family I was with had a room and on question rated it a good 3/5. I really enjoyed the breakfast and the kind and amazing service accompanying it. It is wonderful how deliciously an omelette can be prepared.”

“The room was neat and good size and great location close to trams and U Bahn. Check in was great as well and the staff were friendly. The small issue I had was that the liquid soap in the shower was empty, there was no spare toilet role and the one they had on was only half used. And also the cleaner did not replace the used towels with new towels everyday nor did they provide new water bottles when they cleaned the room. So I did not see the point of coming into the room to clean. But the receptionist was quick to provide me new towels, soap and toilet roll when I rang them.”

“A pleasant stay and wonderful experience as a whole, starting before arrival already. Will definitely book again if needed. Staffs are amazing, room is not big yet somehow spacious. One thing, carpet might need some deep cleaning, in room (a few stains). Bed sheets and towels are, on the other hand, spotless! 5 stars for the hospitality and service. Frederica was very welcoming and daily interactions with staffs were friendly and helpful. Thank you!”
